We recently heard from Liston College about their new coach and how the 1st XI team was going. Read what they have to say...
A few months ago we introduced you to Colin Rampling, who was determined to revive cricket in the Bay of Plenty region, with the main focus being low-decile youth cricket. QSCC pledged $9,100 to help repair four existing local nets, and purchase gear and equipment so Colin could hold after school programmes. 🏏
Liston College
Liston is a Catholic boys secondary school in West Auckland. They requested funding for coaching in terms four and one with that person to develop a cricket program for year seven and eight boys. We have granted $4,000 to cover 16 weeks of coaching. Natascha van Tilsburg We have again provided $800 for Natascha’s coaching with Kit Perera. Natascha is an exciting prospect as a right hand bat and last year made the Auckland Hearts team. Naenae Cricket Club We have committed $10,000 to the Naenae cricket club in Wellington on the recommendation of Naenae and QSCC stalwart Aaron Klee. The club has a comprehensive business plan to employ a full-time Cricket Development Officer (CDO) to deliver coaching programs to juniors, schools and the community. Waitakere CC Like many clubs, Waitakere in West Auckland has some funding gaps this year. We have granted $14,400 for the employment of two CDOs to implement their school programs. The two students are both club members. The school fields seven teams and requested help with supplying balls for the season as their usual funding not available. The Committee approved their request for $5,000 covering eight dozen balls.
Peter Robb from V Net has kindly donated two nets to the QSCC which we have arranged to go to St Pauls College. Here we have Peter, coach Dion Nash and the First X1 players trying them out! Thank you Peter, what a generous donation. They will be put to good use!
