Who Are We? The Queen Street Cricket Club is a supporter club with around 250 members who love the game of cricket (preferably Test), and are unwavering supporters of cricket in New Zealand.
QSCC are a registered Charity and we donate funds to support low-decile youth cricket. This is in the form of scholarships for promising players and grants to schools and clubs for gear, coaching and equipment. For many years we have been the main funder of the New Zealand Cricket Players Association’s hugely successful Hooked-on-Cricket programme. All six associations are involved, eight low decile primary schools are invited to submit 30 kids. Contracted players from the association go into the schools to coach and prepare the teams for a tournament. QSCC raise funds from our investment portfolio, donations, project specific grants and an annual Duck fine. Our infamous Duck Fine sees members donate $5 for every 'duck' scored by a New Zealand player in a Test match. With the record of QSCC legends Danny Morrison and Chris Martin now a distant memory, it has become increasingly hard to raise funds from the 'ducks' alone (thankfully) so the committee occasionally suggests other feats warranting a donation (such as Brendon McCullum's record breaking score of 302). QSCC host annual golf days in Auckland and Christchurch, and put on functions around international cricket games. ContactAddress:
